The Breathe Easy Foundation is a charity set up in the memory of Caroline Omolara Akeju who died on the 23rd of April 2009 in Nigeria of asthma and allergy related problems. We are a non-profit organisation dedicated to improve the lives of people with asthma and allergies.
Our aim is to support the relief of asthma for people who may be unable to afford payment for treatment or obtain the right course of care for their asthma or allergy both here in the UK and in Nigeria.
We aim to offer help wherever support is needed especially small towns and villages in Nigeria where many asthma sufferers may have difficulty in getting correct diagnosis and treatment.
We work directly with Asthma UK and other non-government organisations in Nigeria that is also striving to provide support and relief.
As a daughter, Lara Akeju was all one could wish for. As a friend, she was an Angel that was
always trying to make other peoples’ responsibilities her own. We all watched her grow from a lively, fun-loving young girl into a caring, out going, exemplary young woman.
‘Lara, surely, the good that people do lives after them, and your 24 years with us, while short in our eyes will never fade or lose its glow in our hearts. True immortality lies not in the material possessions or money you might have amassed, but how long you live in the consciousness of those you left behind.
